D. Sivanandhan, is a 1976-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer belonging to the Maharashtra cadre. He retired as Director General of Police (DGP), Maharashtra in 2011. He has had a highly decorated and successful career as a Police officer, serving as Mumbai Police Commissioner, Chief of the elite Mumbai Crime Branch, Police Commissioner of Thane and Nagpur, and Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) Anti-Naxal operations. He was instrumental in demolishing the Mumbai underworld during his tenure as chief of the Mumbai Crime Branch. He is the co-author of the best-selling book Chanakya’s Seven Secrets of Leadership. In 2017, D. Sivanandhan founded Roti Bank Mumbai, an NGO feeding the poor that has served over 20 million meals till date.
