He has had a highly decorated and successful career as a police officer, serving as Mumbai Police Commissioner, Chief of the elite Mumbai Crime Branch, Police Commissioner of Thane and Nagpur, and Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) Anti-Naxal Operations. He was instrumental in demolishing the Mumbai underworld during his tenure as chief of the Mumbai Crime Branch. He is also the co-author of the best-selling book Chanakya’s Seven Secrets of Leadership.
In 2017, D. Sivanandhan founded Roti Bank Mumbai, an NGO feeding the poor, which has served over 20 million meals to date.
