A Sneak into the World of Light:
A review of Sai Baba on A Must For Mums, a web site by Rina Mehta, who is the author of the bestselling Navneet Mumbai Mums Guide. Sep, 2003.

'Sai Baba', a book by Sonavi Desai. A rare chance for the Indian youth to read intersting literature that he can relate to. Something that would touch an inner cord. Even for those completely unaware of Sai Baba, the book is an intersting read. Simple language accentuates it's effectiveness. The entire book is covered in a series of wondrous stories as told by a grandmother to young children, through the eyes of Laxmi, one of Baba's most ardent devotees. The treatment brings the tales alive and close to the heart. An inspiring read, not only for teenagers but also for adults of any age.

A MODERN GRANDMA SPEAKS

Indus Source Books makes its debut in conjunction with Smriti Books to come out with two new titles, Sai Baba and The Buddha, a part of their Spiritual Masters series.

The focus of Indus Source is to produce books based on Indian mythology, culture and spirituality. Sonavi and Supriya’s association with Spic Macay inculcated in them a strong interest in Indian culture and a desire to introduce the present generation to our rich spiritual tradition through interesting books.

Instead of opting for the easy way of asking a publisher to print their books, they started a publishing house of their own. They say: "Going to a publisher would mean losing control over what goes into print. We have our own idea of what must form the contents."

The duo describes their books as "a modern grandma that speaks the modern language".
